iPhone sleeves & cases collection
Frequently Asked Questions
With the KIRKBY and the KINGSTON, yes. Both have a cutout for the charging cable. The CHESTER is MagSafe compatible and also charges wirelessly with the case on.
If you reach for your phone often and quickly, take the CHESTER: it stays on the device as a back cover. If you like how your iPhone feels without a case and only want it protected while you carry it, take a slip-in sleeve, sometimes called a pouch. If you want both, take the CHESTER together with the KINGSTON in the wide fit.
Yes, that is part of the idea. Wool felt and leather adapt to your device over time. One trick: you can adjust the fit through the front pocket, as one more card makes the phone sit more firmly.
Yes. KIRKBY and KINGSTON have sound holes, so the speaker stays open.
The SHETLAND is pure merino wool felt, in dark gray, red and white. Leather is the more hard-wearing material and ages more slowly, and KINGSTON and KIRKBY combine the two.
KIRKBY and KINGSTON cover the iPhone 17 back to the 12, both also in a version for the mini models. The SHETLAND goes back to the iPhone 15, and the CHESTER is made for the iPhone 17, 16 and 15.
iPhone cases in leather and wool felt
We make two kinds of iPhone case: a case that stays on the device permanently, and sleeves in leather and Merino wool felt that you slide the phone into to carry it. Which one fits you depends on how you use your iPhone.
iPhone case or sleeve in leather and felt
| Case: CHESTER | Sleeves to slide into: SHETLAND, KIRKBY, KINGSTON | |
|---|---|---|
| Principle | Back cover, stays on the device permanently | You take the device out to use it |
| Construction | Impact-resistant polycarbonate, covered on the outside with leather or Alcantara, microfibre inside | Merino wool felt and vegetable-tanned leather |
| Charging | MagSafe, wireless charging with the case on | Charging cable cutout on KIRKBY and KINGSTON |
| Protection | Also when the phone drops out of your hand | Against scratches and keys in your bag |
| Over the years | stays firmly on the device, unchanged | Felt and leather adapt to your device |
| Who it is for | Anyone who needs the phone often and quickly | For material purists who like how an iPhone feels without a case |
How it sits: leather and wool felt on video
Two short clips: the KINGSTON in full leather, and the KIRKBY in Merino wool felt with a leather front.
Both at once: the wide fit
There is a third way, and hardly anyone besides us offers it. Many people already carry their iPhone in a smooth case, a clear case or a slim leather case, and still do not want to drop it unprotected into a bag or a backpack. That is exactly what the KINGSTON in the wide fit is for.
The result is double protection: the case stays on the device and protects the display and the edges day to day, and the sleeve goes over it while you carry the phone. It is a little bulkier, but you do not have to choose.
Narrow for the bare device, wide for an iPhone that is already in a smooth case – a clear case, a leather case or our own CHESTER. SHETLAND and KIRKBY come in the narrow fit only.
Sound holes, charging cable cutout, grip notch
Three details you only notice in daily use, and then do not want to be without. KIRKBY and KINGSTON have all three:
- Sound holes. The speaker stays open. You hear the ringtone even while the phone is in the sleeve.
- Charging cable cutout. You can charge without taking the device out.
- Grip notch at the top. A cutout at the upper edge for your thumb. Without it you are pulling at a smooth edge.
The three models compared
| Model | Material | Features | Colours | Fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SHETLAND | Merino wool felt | Front pocket, grip notch at the top | Anthracite, red, white | narrow only |
| KIRKBY | Merino wool felt with leather | Outer pocket, grip notch, sound holes, charging cable cutout | Dark grey-dark brown, light grey-light brown | narrow only |
| KINGSTON | Leather with Merino wool felt | Sound holes, charging cable cutout, contrasting stitching | Dark brown, light brown | narrow and wide |
Narrow means: for the bare device, without any other protective case.
SHETLAND, for anyone who loves pure wool felt
The SHETLAND is our classic felt phone sleeve: no contrast, no stitching that draws the eye. Just Merino wool felt, 100 percent virgin wool, in anthracite, red or white. The felt is soft enough not to scratch the display as you slide the phone in.
If you want something more hard-wearing, take leather: it stands up to more than felt mechanically and ages visibly more slowly. The KINGSTON and the KIRKBY combine the two.
The front pocket is also a fine adjustment: put one more card in and the phone sits a little more firmly. That is how you adapt the sleeve to your device over time.
Ready to give as a gift
CHESTER, KIRKBY and KINGSTON come in a fine lidded box, with a silver ribbon set diagonally across it. We emboss the silver mark ourselves, here in the workshop.
Which models fit
The CHESTER is available for the iPhone 17, 16 and 15, each also as Pro, Pro Max and Plus. The SHETLAND fits the iPhone 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, Air, 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max and 15. KIRKBY and KINGSTON cover the widest range, from the iPhone 17 back to the 12, both also in a version for the mini models.
If you keep an older iPhone, at some point you will no longer find a matching case in the shops. A sleeve you slide the phone into keeps working.
Dab leather with a dry cloth, do not rub it, and let it dry in the air. Not on a radiator. Shake wool felt out and brush it off.
From the raw hide to the last stitch
In our own workshop in Hamburg, Germany. Splitting, skiving, punching, sewing, embossing, hardware and final inspection all happen here – since 2011, with long-standing partners for individual steps.
A sleeve you slide a phone into has to sit tightly without jamming. You cannot buy that tolerance in, it is created at the cutting stage. That is also why we can offer it in two widths.
