Frequently Asked Questions

It fits as well. Our sleeves are cut for the iPad together with its keyboard anyway, so there is enough room.

It measures 25.1 × 17.4 cm, so it is a little narrower and longer. It fits, but it sits more loosely than an iPad 10.

No. A power adapter does not fit in any of our front pockets, not in the HAMPSHIRE and not in the ANGUS. In the CORRIEDALE S it has its place in the main compartment next to the device. If you travel with a slim sleeve, the power adapter belongs in a separate cable pouch.

In our own workshop in Hamburg. Cutting, sewing and final inspection all happen here, since 2011. The leather is vegetable-tanned cowhide from Tuscany, the Merino wool felt is mulesing-free.

Yes. The iPad 10 measures 24.9 × 18.0 cm, one millimetre away from the iPad Air 11". Our 11-inch patterns are cut for both. When ordering, choose the size iPad Pro / Air 11".

Yes. Apple has not changed the size since the 10th generation, both measure 24.9 × 18.0 cm.

The SUFFOLK is the slimmest and disappears into a backpack compartment. HAMPSHIRE and ANGUS have a front pocket for flat items such as a cable, a card or a ticket. The CORRIEDALE S also holds documents.

In every model it has its own protected space, whether or not you use a keyboard.

iPad 10th generation leather sleeve – handmade in Hamburg since 2011

The iPad 10th generation is the iPad for everyone who does not need a Pro: a large display, USB-C, Touch ID in the button, at a price that makes sense. Our iPad 10 sleeves and bags have been made in Hamburg since 2011, from vegetable-tanned cowhide leather and mulesing-free Merino wool felt.

For comparison: the iPad 10th generation measures 24.9 × 18.0 cm. That is only one millimetre away from the iPad Air 11-inch – our 11-inch patterns are cut for both. Because they are made for the iPad together with its keyboard anyway, your iPad 10 also fits with the Magic Keyboard Folio.

The SUFFOLK is a vertical sleeve – the iPad slides in upright. That is why the smaller number comes first there. In the other models the device lies crosswise.

The four models in leather and wool felt for your iPad 10

  • SUFFOLK – Merino wool felt with a leather patch, without a front pocket. The slimmest option, it disappears into any backpack compartment.
  • HAMPSHIRE – wool felt with a contrasting leather patch, flat magnets and a front pocket.
  • ANGUS – full leather outside, wool felt inside. Two zips, one of them for the front pocket.
  • CORRIEDALE S – the bag for when documents and cables travel next to the iPad.

When ordering, choose the size iPad Pro / Air 11-inch – that is the pattern which fits your iPad 10.

The leather: vegetable-tanned cowhide, just under 2 mm thick

For the ANGUS and for the leather patches of SUFFOLK, HAMPSHIRE and CORRIEDALE we use full-grain leather from family-run tanneries in Tuscany, vegetable-tanned. The hide reaches us just under 2 mm thick and we bring it down to the thickness each part needs.

Full-grain means the surface is not sanded for an even look. Pores, fine veins and small scars stay visible, and the colour deepens over the years. An iPad 10 leather sleeve that goes into a backpack every day looks different after two years than on day one: darker, softer, with a patina. If you want a material that always looks the same, a coated leather suits you better. We deliberately do the opposite.

Inside there are 3 mm of Merino wool felt. The felt is soft enough not to scratch the display as you slide the device in, and dense enough to absorb knocks instead of passing them on to the corners of the iPad. Your device is best protected in the ANGUS: it is the only model with full leather outside and wool felt inside.

Compatibility: iPad 10th generation and the current iPad

Our sleeves fit the iPad 10th generation (2022) and the current iPad. Both measure exactly 24.9 × 18.0 cm; Apple has not changed the size across these generations. The iPad Air 11-inch and the iPad Pro 11-inch use the same pattern.

The Apple Pencil has its own protected space in every model.

Do you have an older device? The iPad 9th generation measures 25.1 × 17.4 cm, so it is a little narrower and longer. It fits, but it sits more loosely.

From our workshop

From the raw hide to the last seam

Splitting, skiving, punching, sewing, embossing, fittings and final inspection all happen in our own workshop in Hamburg, since 2011.

A slip-in sleeve has to sit tightly without jamming. That tolerance cannot be bought in, it is created at the cutting stage. This is why we cut a separate pattern for each device size instead of one universal cut.
