Frequently Asked Questions
Open the Apple menu and choose „About This Mac“. It shows the exact model and the year. You can also find the model number in small print on the underside of the device.
That is what the CORRIEDALE is made for: the bag for two devices. A MacBook up to 16 inch and an iPad side by side, plus documents. SUFFOLK, HAMPSHIRE and ANGUS are close-fitting sleeves for one device only.
Flat accessories: a charging cable, a USB-C adapter, cards, a notebook. HAMPSHIRE and ANGUS have such a pocket, and on the ANGUS it has its own zip. The SUFFOLK has no front pocket on purpose, which is what keeps it especially slim.
Yes. Merino wool felt absorbs knocks, repels water and reliably protects against scratches and impacts. This is what the material has been used for over centuries. In a backpack or a bag your MacBook is well looked after.
We have produced everything ourselves since 2011, in Hamburg, from vegetable-tanned leather and Merino wool felt. Each device size has its own pattern instead of one universal cut. This is why a sleeve really fits, instead of fitting more or less.
You need two things: the size of your MacBook, and whether you want felt or leather on the outside. After that, only one question is left: does anything else travel with the MacBook? If you are not sure, send us a short message with your model.
No, and this is different from a hard plastic shell that stays on the housing all the time. Our sleeves are slip-in sleeves. You take the MacBook out to work, so it is never packed away while it is running.
Felt is soft, light and absorbs knocks. Leather is firmer, protects the edges better and develops its own patina over the years. The SUFFOLK is the only model in pure wool felt, with our leather logo as the single leather part. We compare both in detail in our guide Wool felt or leather?
We build separate bags for them: the cable bag CORRIEDALE XS in wool felt and the LONGFORD in leather. Our sleeves are cut flat on purpose and should stay that way, because a power adapter would push them out of shape. People who carry a MacBook and an iPad in the CORRIEDALE usually take the cable bag as well.
In our own workshop in Hamburg, Germany. Everything is cut, sewn and checked here, and has been since 2011. The leather is vegetable-tanned and comes from Tuscany, and the Merino wool felt is mulesing-free.
Four MacBook sleeves in leather and wool felt. One clear decision.
Whether you call it a sleeve or a bag: not every MacBook travels in the same way. There are three slim MacBook sleeves and one roomy MacBook bag to choose from. This is why we do not start with product names, but with a question: what should your MacBook sleeve do for you?
SUFFOLK

How it fits: the MacBook leather sleeve on video
Three short clips from our workshop in Hamburg: how the magnetic closure shuts, how the MacBook slides into the felt, and how much fits into the bag.

MacBook sleeves in leather and wool felt compared
All models are cut for a precise fit, from 13 to 16 inch. The difference lies in the material, the design and the space inside.
Inside dimensions by MacBook size
So that you do not have to guess: the usable space inside in centimetres, measured on the finished sleeves and not taken from a drawing. Find your inch size on the left and read the matching sleeve on the right.

The SUFFOLK is a vertical sleeve, so the MacBook goes in upright and the smaller number comes first. In all other models the device lies flat.
Not sure between two sizes? Measure your MacBook when it is closed and compare it with the row. If it fits on paper, it fits in reality. We cut closely, but not too closely.
Every MacBook sleeve in leather and wool felt passes through our hands
Since 2011 every MacBook sleeve and every bag has been made by hand in our workshop. We cut a separate pattern for each device size. This is why it fits, and this is why there are four models instead of one universal shape.
No neoprene that smells after a year. No imitation leather that cracks. Vegetable-tanned leather develops its own patina over the years, and the soft Merino wool felt lies against the device without scratching it. It absorbs knocks instead of passing them on.
