The HAMPSHIRE is a close-fitting sleeve: the device only fits without an additional protective case. The CORRIEDALE is more generous, and there you compare your device with the inside dimensions (S 26,5 × 19,5 cm, M 31,7 × 22,4 cm, L 36,5 × 25,4 cm). Always measure with everything that stays on the tablet permanently. For iPad versions with the Magic Keyboard, please look under iPad sleeves.
Yes. The HAMPSHIRE has a Surface Pen holder, a sewn-on leather patch with a rubber loop. The CORRIEDALE has a holder for a pen or an Apple Pencil. The ANGUS has no pen holder. For iPad models with a pencil holder, see iPad sleeves.
The ANGUS. It has two layers of material: full leather outside and 100 % Merino wool felt inside. It is also built so that its YKK zip glides above the device without touching it. The pure felt models have one layer.
Merino wool felt made of 100 % virgin wool, 3 mm thick, for cushioning and protection, combined with vegetable-tanned cowhide leather from Tuscany, just under 2 mm thick. On the ANGUS the leather sits outside, on the HAMPSHIRE as an application, and on the CORRIEDALE on the side panels.
Shake out or brush the felt regularly. Wipe the leather dry and use a leather balm sparingly if needed. Always let damp parts dry slowly in the air.

The ANGUS has a built-in front pocket, the HAMPSHIRE has a front pocket for flat items, and the CORRIEDALE has three inner pockets. Important: a power adapter fits into none of these front pockets. That is what our cable bags are for. In the CORRIEDALE the power adapter lies in the main compartment, next to the device.
The HAMPSHIRE. It is made of 3 mm Merino wool felt with a leather application and closes with ultra-flat magnetic closures, so it is barely bulky.
One. The Surface ANGUS closes its main compartment with one matte silver zip in YKK quality, and it also has a front pocket on the outside. Only the MacBook version of the ANGUS has two zips.
For the Surface Pro: ANGUS and HAMPSHIRE are cut for the Surface Pro generations, so please check the product page for the models listed. With the CORRIEDALE the inside dimensions decide, not the inch number. For non-Apple and non-Surface tablets the outside dimensions are what counts. If you are not sure, just ask us and we will help.

Which leather tablet sleeve suits you?
The question is not which one is best, but how your tablet travels. Does it sit in a backpack that already holds everything else? Then a slim sleeve is enough. Does it travel on its own, without a backpack? Then it needs more wall around it.

Of the three models the ANGUS protects best. Not because it costs more, but because it has two layers of material: leather outside, wool felt inside. The pure felt models have one.
Why leather and wool felt for your tablet?
Plastic cases scratch, silicone sleeves attract dust, and cheap imitation leather peels after a year. Merino wool felt cushions gently without scratching, and vegetable-tanned leather from Tuscany gains character with use instead of losing it. A tablet sleeve that grows with you, not one you throw away after two years.
The wool felt is made of 100 % Merino virgin wool, mulesing-free, and is 3 mm thick. It absorbs knocks instead of passing them on, takes up moisture without feeling wet, and does not scratch the housing. Synthetic needle felt cannot do this, because it lacks the density. The leather is full-grain cowhide from family-run tanneries in Tuscany, just under 2 mm thick.
A tablet with a keyboard: what that means for the size
The most common reason why a tablet sleeve does not fit is not the tablet but what is attached to it. A Type Cover or an attached keyboard makes the device noticeably thicker and often wider as well. So measure your tablet together with everything that stays on it permanently.
With the HAMPSHIRE this matters most: it is a close-fitting sleeve, and the device only fits without an additional protective case. That is exactly what makes it so flat. The CORRIEDALE is the more generous solution, and there you compare with the inside dimensions. We measure the finished piece, not the drawing:

If in doubt, take the larger size. The felt gives a little and fills up air. Too tight, on the other hand, stays too tight. Not sure about a non-Apple tablet? Send us the outside dimensions and we will tell you which size fits.
What fits next to the tablet, and what does not
This is where too much is often promised, so let us be clear: a power adapter fits into none of our front pockets. Not on the HAMPSHIRE, not on the ANGUS, not on the CORRIEDALE. The front pockets are deliberately flat, so that the sleeve does not become bulky at the front.
What does fit: a charging cable, a card, a ticket, a thin notepad, headphones. Everything larger travels next to the device. In the CORRIEDALE the power adapter has its place in the main compartment, next to the device. With the two sleeves it belongs in a separate cable bag.

Our tablet sleeves were developed mainly for the Apple iPad and the Microsoft Surface Pro, but they also fit other tablets of the matching size. They are coordinated with the cable bags, desk mats and wallets from the Pack & Smooch collection. Handmade in Germany since 2011.
Caring for a tablet sleeve in leather and wool felt
- Leather in daily use: wipe it with a dry, soft cloth. Use a leather balm sparingly if required.
- Wool felt: shake it out, brush it or use the upholstery nozzle of a vacuum cleaner. Do not wash it.
- After rain: dab it first, do not rub. Then let it dry at room temperature, not on a radiator.
- The zip: brush it out from time to time. The YKK zip needs no grease.
- Sunlight: long one-sided sunlight makes leather darken unevenly.
Every leather tablet sleeve is made in Hamburg
Cutting, sewing, embossing, hardware and final inspection all happen in our own workshop in Hamburg, and have done since 2011, with long-standing partners for single steps.
This is why we can say which layer of the hide was used, how it was tanned and where it comes from. And this is why we also say what does not fit, instead of promising one universal sleeve.
