Cut for the iPad with its Magic Keyboard
Fit
The iPad goes in with the Magic Keyboard attached; that is what the cut is made for. Other keyboards and protective covers fit too, as long as they do not add more bulk than the Magic Keyboard.
Two sizes cover the current models: 11 inch for iPad Pro 11 and iPad Air 11 / 10.9, 13 inch for iPad Pro 13 / 12.9 and iPad Air 13. Without a keyboard the iPad sits a little looser; the 9th and 10th generation iPad fits as well.
Muted royal blue with a fine texture
Outer material
Saffiano is a fine cross-hatch grain, the kind you know from well-known Italian leather goods. It gives the surface grip and a quiet depth – light breaks in it instead of reflecting off it.
The blue is dark enough to stay calm and light enough to let the grain show. And unlike leather, Oleatex does not develop a patina: the sleeve stays as it is.
From the oil mill to the material
Origin
When olives are pressed, pomace stays behind: skins, pulp and pieces of stone. The same as with wine, only it smells of olive.
It comes in large quantities, year after year, and it was never a material anyone built things from.
Collecting, processing, forming it into a sheet: three steps, and out comes Oleatex.
Soft vegan plant felt
Lining
Inside, a 3 mm Violan felt made in Germany rests softly against the device. It cushions and forms the layer between the device and the zip running around the sleeve.
Its first fibre begins as plant sugar: fermented the way dough is left to rise – lactic acid forms, and from it a thread can be spun. The second comes from cellulose. Both come from plant and wood residues.
What comes out feels like felt: dense, soft, with a matt surface that swallows light instead of reflecting it.
The Apple Pencil sits inside
Pencil loop
Inside, along the edge, there is a loop of its own for the Apple Pencil. It does not lie loose next to the iPad but has a fixed place – in both sizes.
When you fold the sleeve open it is where you expect it.
Zip it shut and it travels as one
On the move
Where other sleeves leave room, the ANGUS sits close. Each size is cut for a specific device generation. The dense Violan felt and the firm Oleatex absorb together what a commute or a trip throws at them.
Zip it shut and the iPad and Magic Keyboard stay together, the Apple Pencil sits in its loop. At the other end you fold the sleeve wide open, the device comes out quickly, the keyboard already attached.
And when you only want the bare minimum with you, you carry it under your arm. It weighs 205 grams.
The card slot that brings your sleeve home
Lost and found
Inside, just below the zip, there is a stitched-on slot made of Oleatex. It is exactly as wide as a business card, and an oval cutout lets you pull the card out with one finger instead of picking at it.
The thinking behind it is unspectacular and has worked often enough. If you leave your sleeve on a train, in a lecture hall or in a hotel, you usually only get it back if whoever finds it knows where to send it. A business card answers that question in two seconds, without anyone having to go through somebody's device.
The same slot takes a Bluetooth tracker card in credit-card format. It is only a few millimetres thick, lies flat under the cutout and turns a quiet card slot into something that reports back to your phone.
The tracker tells you where your sleeve is. The card tells the finder who it belongs to. And if you want neither: a slip of paper with a first name and a phone number does the same job.
For cables and flat things
Front pocket
On the outside there is a flat pocket with its own zip. It takes a charging cable, a pen, business cards, a slim notebook or a USB stick. A power adapter is too thick for it.
If you would rather stay in the Apple ecosystem, drop an AirTag into this pocket. There it has room next to the cable and the pen, sits cushioned and does not rattle against the device.

Craft
The sleeve is stitched with recycled thread and closed with a YKK zip in matt silver running all the way around. It is set in so that it glides above the device when you open and close it.
Every sleeve gets one last look-over before it is packed – by hand, here in Hamburg.
Your most frequent questions about the ANGUS iPad sleeve
The ANGUS Vegan comes in two sizes: for iPad Pro 11 and iPad Air 11 / 10.9, and for iPad Pro 13 / 12.9 and iPad Air 13. Both are cut for the iPad with the Magic Keyboard attached. The iPad 9th and 10th generation fit as well, they have a little more room inside.

Yes, the cut is made for it. Inside, the ANGUS Vegan measures 27.3 × 19.9 cm, from seam to seam. If you are unsure, send us the measurements of your device and we will check.
Into the integrated pencil holder. The Pencil does not lie loose next to the iPad, it has its own place. That applies to both sizes.
The matt silver YKK zip runs all the way around and is set in so that it passes above the device when you open and close it, not across it. In between lie 3 mm of Violan – a vegan felt of polylactide and lyocell, from plant and wood residues.

Both fit the same iPad and both have a front pocket. The ANGUS Vegan is Oleatex with a saffiano texture outside, Violan inside, with a zip all the way around and a pencil holder. The leather ANGUS is built the same way, but outside it is vegetable-tanned cowhide and inside merino wool felt. It develops a patina over the years, the vegan one stays as it is.
On the back of your iPad there is a small model number, for example "Model A2588". It is unambiguous, unlike "iPad Air", which exists in several generations with different measurements. You will also find it under Settings → General → About. Send us the number and we will tell you which size fits.
