Tradition protects technology: the ANGUS leather sleeve
With the ANGUS series, Pack & Smooch shows how natural materials, traditional craft and modern technology come together. The leather sleeves are available for MacBook and iPad. Every sleeve is a one-off in vegetable-tanned leather, and the tailored inner compartment is padded with merino wool felt. A zipped compartment on the outside takes accessories.
Pure nature
The robust leather for ANGUS is sourced from Barcelona. It has the characteristic fine smell of leather and develops a pleasant patina over the years. Small variations and irregularities underline the individuality of the natural material. It is worked by hand exclusively in Germany.
„Purely vegetable-tanned leather is still the exception", explains Matthias Burkert, managing director of Pack & Smooch. „Over 85 % of the leather on the market is chrome-tanned, which places an extremely high burden on people and the environment."
Vegetable tanning has been used for thousands of years, but it is considerably more laborious and therefore more expensive than chrome tanning.
ANGUS in detail
The padded main compartment is cut so a MacBook or iPad comes out easily. There is a zipped outer compartment as well. The iPad version has a holder for the Apple Pencil. Inside sits a card-sized pocket: put a business card there and an honest finder knows where to turn.
ANGUS is available in light brown and dark brown.
