Successfully funded on Kickstarter: the TABSTRAP
Sending a quick email, making a booking: with a phone or tablet we handle that on the move without thinking. But when the task drags on, you soon find yourself missing the desk, with a fixed screen and a proper keyboard.
We wanted to bring that feeling to iPad users wherever they are. Together with Jan we developed the TABSTRAP, a holder for every iPad and tablet without a textured back, and took it to market through a Kickstarter campaign. The first funding goal of 2,000 euros was reached after three hours. In the end it stood at over 759 %.
Vacuum film for grip and flexibility
The hand strap is pure merino wool felt, the back vegetable-tanned leather. Thanks to a special vacuum film the TABSTRAP holds securely to the iPad and comes off again without residue. The iPad sits safely in your hand, and it can also be stood up or laid down: on the sofa, on the kitchen counter, on the tray table in front of you. An integrated holder takes the Apple Pencil, cap included.
A Hamburg innovation
Jan Sapper liked the idea and the design enough to take on the campaign management. The Hamburg developer had already gathered crowdfunding experience on several tech products. Like everything we make, the TABSTRAP is produced entirely in our own workshop.
